The OSHA 10- and 30-hour General Industry Outreach Training Programs provide workers with broad awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards in the workplace. Participants will be introduced to safety and health principles and work practices covered in the OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry Standards).
In addition to learning about safety & health hazards in the workplace, participants will learn about OSHA, employer responsibilities, & worker rights. Participants also learn about Hazard Recognition, Avoidance, Abatement and Prevention. Using OSHA regulatory standards as a guide, these courses help to ensure that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights, and improve organizational productivity.
The 10-hour Training Program (1.5 days) is intended for entry-level workers. It features an introduction to OSHA as well as topics covering worker safety, emergency/fire plans, electrical, personal protective equipment, and hazard communications. There are also several elective and optional areas of training to choose from based on your industry and needs.
The 30-hour Training Program (4 days) is intended for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility. It presents the same topics discussed in the 10-hour course, but goes into greater depth. The program also includes a section on materials handling, as well as more time for elective and optional training topics. (The 10-Hour Training is NOT a prerequisite for the 30-Hour Training.)
For both the 10- and 30-hour training programs we offer a pre-course walkthrough of your facility, designed to make the training more specific and relevant to your employees. The training can be conducted on-site or at our state-of-the-art Training Center in Plainfield.
Upon successful completion of these courses, participants will receive a lifetime OSHA General Industry Outreach course completion card from the Department of Labor.
